2020 Tournament Registration Instructions
**Given the current circumstances with COVID-19 please understand that these instructions may change**
There are a few steps that must be done BEFORE the team can register into a tournament
- Have a fully registered team with FIRST which is all done through the firstinspires.org site:
- Payment of the $225 national team registration fee (this is an annual fee paid to FIRST)
- Two screened coaches (instructions)
- Both Coaches must accept Consent&Release and complete Terms&Conditions.
- Primary Coach must complete the FIRST Team Roster. Scroll down on this Instructions page to the Coach Section
- On the norcalfllc.org site, go to the 2020 team list and look up your team number.
- Click on status
- Click to pay the Annual NorCal Registration fee to Playing At Learning – we greatly prefer for you to use paypal. [See below if you can not use paypal]. Playing at Learning is the local non profit which organizes all the training, tournaments, championships, answers your questions, trains the judges/refs and generally supports FIRST LEGO League in Northern California. We are a separate non-profit from FIRST and this is a separate registration fee from the amount paid to FIRST. We do have need-based grant money for teams to support impacted teams from communities with demonstrated financial need, Grant Application. (Applications typically take 5 to 7 business days to process)
- Fill out a local jotform “Team Info Form” about your team on our website
Information you will need before filling out the Team Info Form :
1. For all team members – first and last names and socio-demographic information (gender, ethnicity, free/reduced lunch, number of years participating in FIRST LEGO League)
2. For all coaches and mentors – first and last names and number of years participating in FIRST LEGO League (and/or information about their participating in other FIRST programs). The first 2 coaches listed must also match what is in the FIRST team registration database.
After registration opens, once all of the above is done and reviewed, the team is enabled to register into a tournament. The link to register will show up on your team’s status page on the line that says, “Team Eligible to Register for QT? “
