PreReqs List: NOW        We will mark your team as “Eligible”  to register for a qualifier once the 3 pre-reqs are complete.      At this time, you will be enabled during Round 2  (see below).  

Deadline to complete your pre reqs is NOW!  If you can not complete within a day or  two of October 15th,  please let me know.  We need to move on and get registration closed!!!  We try hard to be as accomodating as possible but there is a limit to how much flexibility there is.

Before you can register for a qualifier in NorCal, you must do 3 things to be eligible.      


1) Pay the qualifier fee of $85  and  2) Complete Online Team List  [integrated this year!]

Each Team must complete separate form – and must list all team members and all coaches/mentors for that team 

3) Team/Coach Waivers (link below)   (1 for each person listed in #2 Team List)  Sharing one form for more than 1 person will not be accepted!  This is a legal waiver and each person must have their own individual form. Please do not copy on both sides – it makes it very challenging to manage.  We must receive a waiver for each and every person listed on the team details form – ie there should be a “one to one” match.  These have to be mailed or dropped off (see correct mailing address below) – not scanned/email, not a photocopy, not faxed but physically mailed.  The deadline is when we must RECEIVE these items – not a postmarked by date or anything else.    

 

Please include all waiver forms together in one envelope – please do not send individually!!!   And please check that they are complete AND include full names and correct date of birth for all minors (ie anyone under 18 years old – yes, even mentors!)

DO NOT REQUIRE A SIGNATURE (ie do not send registered or certified mail or if you send via UPS/FedEx, mark that no signature is required) –  There is no one available to sign for your envelope and that will add a couple of days at least in receipt.   The deadline is for when we receive your forms in hand.   We do not look at the postmark date or when you sent them or when we receive notification that there is an envelope waiting for a signature at some random post office building.

(When you fill out the form, the Coach/Mentor themselves are then  listed as the “Participant”  – yes, this form is identical to the one that you use for team members.)

In NorCal,  we have 2 Registration  Rounds – you will either be in Round 1 OR in Round 2:

Round 1 for those that MET all 3 Pre-Requisites by October 1st

[Opens:  10/10 at 7pm]

Teams whose pre-reqs have been received by Playing at Learning by 10/1 will be able to register for a qualifying tournament in their district – first come, first served.  For best results, you should have a prioritized list of tournaments as well as any dates that your team can’t make when you begin this online registration process as we expect that some tournaments will fill rapidly.

 

 

Round 2 for those that met the 3 Pre-Requisites anytime AFTER October 1st    

[Opens: 10/14 at 7pm ]

Teams whose pre-reqs were not all received by the 10/1 pre-reg deadline  will be able to register for a qualifying tournament in this 2nd round.  Teams  can register into a tournament in their district that has open slots during the “rolling” round 2 registration once we have all of the pre-registration requirements met  (all of your forms and payment).   The team will be enabled as soon as all required items are completed after this phase opens. 

 

 

 

We do NOT use  FIRST’s  Event Registration system, so none of our specific tournaments will be searchable on the usfirst.org (gofll.usfirst.org or other) site!  Current Qualifier list is here

 

(How Does Registration Work?)

 

 

 

 

If your team is not planning on competing at a Nor Cal tournament for the 2013 season, please just send an email to fll@playingatlearning.org so we don’t have to aggressively try to reach you via email/phone. Your timely notification will save everyone time and effort.

 

  

 

 

Where are the tournaments in my district?

The specific list of current tournament sites is here  –  we are still looking for MANY additional tournament hosts and sites in each district.     Not sure what district your team is in?  2013 Districts    

 

 

 

IMPORTANT:   If you are the primary coach for 3 or more teams and all of your teams must compete at the exact same tournament due to school  trip logistics or similar requirements,  please contact us no later than September 28th at fll@playingatlearning.org,  as we will be handling “large school groups” as a special case registration situation.  Note that FIRST requires every team to have a primary adult present and available.   This means that if you are coaching more than 1 team, you must identify the primary adult that will be attending the tournament for each team – you can be the primary adult for exactly 1 team but additional teams must have a different adult for each.  See FLL Participation Rules
